Hawaii 1991,… Underwater photographer Tepley and his assistant Lisa Costello were petting a school of pilot whales when something went terribly wrong: one of the whales grabbed Lisa by the leg and dragged her 40 feet underwater. She barely made it back to the surface.
Tepley, who videotaped the whole incident, was later fined $10,000 for harassing pilot whales off Hawaii in May, 1991.
