A new study revealed today that people who obsessively dislike particular celebrities, are just as annoying as those who fanatically love them.
Dr Francis King at the Ryman Institute of Social Affairs was on hand to explain further.
‘Exactly 70% of people you interact with on a day to day basis; family, friends, colleagues – they just don’t care. These people are equally disinterested in hearing about (1) that celebrity you hate who did something ”vapid and pointless”, as they are in a conversation about (2) that celebrity you love who did something ”inspiring”‘.
News that their random diatribes against ‘celebrity culture’ are not considered a popular dinner conversation, was greeted with dismay by unreasonably bitter people.
‘I just can’t stand him,’ said Jordan Farah, a compulsive anti-belieber for the last 7 years. ‘I’ve been following Justin Bieber on Twitter, Instagram and occasionally in person, but no matter where I go I can’t get rid of him. So what if my friends don’t want to hear how unacceptable it is that he’s returned to the forefront of the UK’s conciousness? So what if they want to talk about Syria? I’m still going to tell them how angry I am that Justin Bieber exists.’
‘I’m ok with Bieber’, one 35 year old mother of two told us. ‘But, Miley Cyrus?! Everything she does just pisses me right off. It’s all I can do to stop myself from turning off the radio or leaving her concert. Instead, I just jump on Twitter and chat shit.’
On hearing that some random bloke in Greenwich spent the last week telling everyone how, he wished ‘they’d just fuck off already’, both Bieber and Cyrus declined to comment.
