Lenticular clouds have a characteristic lens shape, and they are quite often mistaken for Unidentified Flying Objects or UFOs.

Lenticular clouds - scientists and meteorologists refer to them as altocumulus lenticularis - are stationary clouds that usually form near high mountains.

1. Lenticular clouds over Mount Rainier…
Taken at sunrise on November 20, 2004, Dave Kinney recorded these spectacular lenticular clouds over Mount Rainier National Parc which is located 54 miles southeast of Seattle, Washington. To make this video, he compressed a 45 minutes time lapse into one minute of video. A fantastic and stunning result!

2. Here’s another freaky lenticular cloud…
This lenticular cloud actually looks like a double alien spaceship. I don’t know who posted this video, but I am pretty sure this footage is genuine. I just love these things.
