What’s the difference between a 15 knot headwind and a 15 knot tailwind. The difference is 30 knots groundspeed.
Sunday, May 15, 2005, Bader Field, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA… The pilot of a Cessna Citation 525 mistakenly lands his jet airplane downwind, overshoots the runway and lands into the bay. Incredibly, all 4 occupants survived, but that’s not the end of the story…
Apparently, the pilot didn’t switch off the engines before he initiated the evacuation, and then… more suspense followed…
