11,000 Passengers In One Airship!
If Victor Prokhorov – CEO of Russian based LocomoSky – is right, his new airship will be able to transport very large and very heavy cargoes to inaccessible areas at top speeds of up to 250 km per hour!
Two variations are on the drawing table already:
- The LSGA : a cargo-only version capable of lifting up to 600 tons
- The LSGPA : a passenger version capable of transporting up to 11,000 people at a time (that’s eleven thousand !!!)
In 1992, a first attempt was made to test a smaller but similar airship – the ALA-40 – designed to lift up to 6 tons.
Rumors say the United States Air force is experimenting with similar designs as well.
